What is the Lawsuit about :-
A class action lawsuit, Lopez v. Apple, was filed in 2021 alleging that Apple’s Siri voice assistant sometimes recorded people without their permission. The problem? According to reports, Siri was accidentally triggered by someone accidentally pressing a button or simply saying something that sounded like ”Hey Siri.”
According to the lawsuit, these accidental activities led to Apple collecting private conversations, which were then shared with third-party contractors. Some users also reported seeing ads for products they had previously only spoken out loud.
While Apple has denied any wrongdoing, it has agreed to pay $95 million to settle the case.

Who Can Get Money From This? :-
You may be eligible for a payout if you:
Owned or bought a Siri-enable Apple device.
Used it between September 17,2014, and December 31, 2024.
Had Siri accidentally turn on while you were having a private or confidential conversation.
Devices that qualify include iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, MacBooks, iMacs, Apple TVs, Home Pods, and even iPad Touches.
Each device could get up to $20, with a limit of five devices per person – so potentially up to $100 total, depending on how many people file claims.
How to Claim your Share :-
To get your piece of the settlement :
- Visit the official Lopez Voice Assistant Settlement website.
- You can file a claim using a code if you received an email or postcard.
- If you didn’t get a code, you can still file a claim manually.
- Deadline to submit your claim is July 2, 2025.

A court will review the settlement foe final approval on August 1, 2025. If approved, payments will be sent out afterward.
